Gwinnett Parks Plein Air Challenge

6:00-9:00pm  

Adult Artists will have the opportunity to capture Gwinnett Parks' most unique and scenic features by creating original Plein Air paintings and drawings. First Prize Winner will receive top recognition and the winning artwork will become Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation's signature piece for its 25th Anniversary Celebrations showcased throughout the county. Other prize winners will receive prominent prizes and their artwork will be selected to participate in this year's 2012 Event Tour. 

Once a month, artists will meet to paint in the beautiful parks in Gwinnett County.  Artists will start painting on March 17, 2012 and painting every third week-end every month until the third Saturday in August.  We will meet at 9:00 am and work until sunset.  The Exhibition and Opening Reception will be September 15, at Tannery Row Artist Colony in Buford, GA.  The Show will run September 15 through Oct 7.  The winning artwork will become the signature piece for the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation’s 25^th Anniversary.  There will be first, second and third place winners, along with honorable mentions. The Top Winners will be on tour through-out the different county offices until March of 2013.  A copy of the prospectus is on the Tannery Row Artist Colony web site .  Submission fee and artworks are due September 7, 2012.  You must be 18 to participate and you must be a registered participant.  Please register before February 1, 2012
