This painting won an Award of Excellence sponsored by Gamblin Artists Colors Co. at Masterworks New Mexico 2011.  I titled it "3 Mile View-Plein Air Oil" and is the first plein air I have entered in a non-plein air venue.  It was a nice surprise to see that plein air work is valued.  Judge was David A. Leffel.

Honored to have this painting chosen as the winner of the Quick Draw at the Southeastern Plein Air Invitational 2011 where I was a participant for my second year.

"Patriot" is a 12x9 and is in Oil.

We had a great event despite the ravaging tornadoes that came across the south that week.

Thanks Don,

Here is a painting I won "First Place" for at the Madison Paint Out -- in Madison GA and in conjunction with the Madison Historic Home Tour. The painting is pastel and is 12"x9". The location was a home that was a residence for Woodrow Wilson's wife. The home dates from 1840 and is called "The Boat House". It was a fantastic home.

Okay, Don, I have tried several times to upload the photo and it will not let me .... the little circular "working" icon just keeps turning. It also asks me if I want to allow a file to be saved to my computer. I have answered no, and when that did not work, the next time I answered yes .... but my computer wants to say it is not a safe file. I don't like adding something that I don't know what it is. Please look into this. Thanks.

This painting, done at a famous historical battle site, took 3rd place at a Plein Air show. I was set up partially in the water to do this, the gal behind me fell in!

My painting "Snow Day" won the Southwest Art Magazine Award at Plein Air Southwest last month. Plein Air Southwest is a juried competiton open to all plein air painters throughout the US.

Okay, I am trying to upload a prize winning painting for the second time. I keep getting a strange message about adding something to my computer each time I try. So, let's see if it gives me the message -- Don, you wanted me to let you know what it is.

The painting one First Place in the Madison GA Paint Out which was held in conjunction with the Madison Historical Tour of Homes. The painting is a pastel, 9" x 12".

So, once again I cannot upload the photo -- which is a 72 dpi image, so I know it is not too large. The little "working circle" just kept going around. Nothing was being uploaded it seemed. I received this message at the bottom of my screen: "Do you want to save CAE4VCNN.js from pleinairartists.ning.com?" with boxes to click: "open", "save", "cancel". So I just cancelled the operation because I don't know about this file it wants to save to my computer. Anyone have ideas about this?

This is me receiving "Best of Show" award at the Quick Draw Event held at the Bull Ring in the downtown square, durning their plein air painting festival called Art in the Open held in Wexford, Ireland this past summer. It also sold at the show.

I think you are trying to add a photo as an attachment. Everyone here has found the "image" icon on the tool bar, 2nd from the left and used that to embed the image into the message on the page. And when I say "tool bar" I am not talking about a pub where you can meet guys that are "real tools".

This little moonset painting won Best of Show at the New Mexico Plein Air Painters annual juried show at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, New Mexico back in September. Judge was Deborah Paris.

This plein air painting won an Award of Excellence at the American Impressionist Society annual juried show held at the Mountainsong Gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea back in October. Judge was Scott Christensen. Wonderful venue, jury, judge and painters-many of whom are members of this site.

I agree and I commented about this piece when it was first posted... this one really knocked me over, the composition and simplicity and the color. Simply outstanding... Congratulations Damien... well deserved.
