PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Dear Plein-Air Artists,

Hoping many of you might be interested in a project/website I just launched: PaintTheParks.com

My personal quest is to paint as many parks as I can in my life time, and I am inviting artists all around the world to participate in this journey.  PaintTheParks.com provides complimentary links to artists' websites with their parks paintings worldwide.  Participating artists contribute to preservation of nature reserves, as they donate a minimum of 10% from the sale of their parks paintings to the respective State or National Park Associations.

Participation is easy, many of you probably already have paintings of State, National and other Parks. How to participate is explained in detail at http://www.painttheparks.com/how-to-participate

My hope is to have artists from all around the world participate, to provide information and resources, and to raise funds for protected parks worldwide. And off course, for all of us to sell more art!

Warmly,

Karin

Hi Karin,

Thanks for starting this website. I have joined and linked my website to yours, show some of my vast number of paintings done on location and in the studio of our national parks. I can't get up to the elevations of most of the parks anymore due to my COPD problems, but there are still plenty of parks at low elevation or sea level and even below, as in Death Valley, where I have also painted.

I wish you success in your endeavors and hope this will be a magnet to other naturalist artists who also paint the parks.

Dear Don,

Thanks so much, I so appreciate your support and inspiration!  Wonderful, impressive collection of Park Paintings, wow.

Two of my favorites are "In Time" and "Tuolomne River", beautiful, you really caught the spirit! I'm just in awe of the majesty of those places, done a bit of painting there myself.  Glad you now drink coffee rather than dipping your head in icewater:-)

Would love to post a painting of yours and a link back to your site ~ if you'd like to do so please go to http://www.painttheparks.com/participationform ~ thanks!

All the best on your endeavors, and thanks for all the great info you so generously share.
