PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Especially important when painting outdoors is a good hat. I have become somewhat of a collector and have just got the newest craze.... Java the Hat

This hat not only keeps the hot sun off my head, but when bugs, especially mosquitos get to close the hat will eat them.

I'll reckon is scares off onlookers as well!

Anyway, my favorite hat is a cap from Buff:

And then especially the Cap or Visor. It's very light, flexible and soft to wear.

The neoprene visor is just awesome compared with all those hard ones on the market.

The fabric itself is highly UV protecting and they got great designs!!

Just love it.

Usually my Equal Rights ball cap if I get to it first (my husband likes it too) as the wonderful straw hat shown in my photo has been missing and I fear still in Mexico. Want to try the ball cap with the LED lights.

Don, looking good there. But I usually see you with that Irish beer cap on.
seriously I have issues with ball caps as they do not protect your ears and the side of your face.I was watching PBS the other night and saw a show on the Amish and noticed that the men wore the perfect straw hat for painting. I looked around on the web but I'm paranoid about getting hats off the web with out trying them on.
