PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Generally, I like to paint abstract and, increasingly, I find my inspiration by painting out-of-doors.  Three recent plein air abstract works are based on my visits to the El Malpais - a huge lava field 100 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Below are the three paintings and the scenes that inspired them.  If you are interested on how I arrived at these, let me know.  I would be good to have an exchange of we create what we do.
Regards,

Ray

Very interesting work.  I can see the relationships in the images and the art and think they are fascinating.  I especially like the second one.  Totally translates.

I like the last one best, the color and shapes. You inspire me to paint more abstractly. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Penny. Just uploaded a few more. Ray
