Abstract Plein Air

Often when we paint plein air we have to paint quickly to capture the image before the light changes too much. This calls for a simplification of the subject to its basic elements, also known as abstraction.

I am a new member of this group. Is there any way to find members alphabetically by name? For example I really like the piece I saw of Raymond Petersen and would like to see more but don't know how to find more of his work. Thanks for your help...anyone.

I continue to try and lean towards the abstract, leave out detail, but I always have to catch myself getting too literal. It is in my mind, but my hand goes for detail and small brushes. Trying hard!!! See latest on my page.

Painted this outside and just "felt" the birds, trees and wind and this is what showed up. It was so much more fun than paintings what I think I see.
