I have a question for you Wendie...Judith...
Just got done with an arts soiree up here, packing work today, putting my EZ-up away as well. Plans tentatively included possibly driving down to paint a day or two in the Cedarburg festival, staying at my son's in Jackson.

I've intended for a number of years now to get down there for this Cedarburg event, but either I'm teaching a painter's workshop in upper Michigan, or painting up there period...but just haven't had the chance to commit to it.

Seeing your blog and invitation for an artist's critique Tuesday night, I'm wondering is it worth coming down still? If I understand this right...paintings should be delivered to the site Thursday afternoon...and I was thinking to come down just for a couple days. Perhaps Tuesday & Wednesday...drop my paintings off Thursday before heading home, then come back for Saturday's paint out and retrieve my work.

I'm assuming you two have participated in this event before, so what can you tell me? Of course, that's presuming you see this comment...with all going on.
peace

Larry

Does anyone else here use a spray bottle of water and alcohol (not the drinking kind) to spray above your head while painting? I read from a blog post by an artist in Atlanta that it keeps the air cooler above and around you and keeps the bugs away. Sounds like it's worth a try.

I use a wetted bandana, put it inside my hat and it keeps me nice and cool, and it doesn't hurt that I have a bald head!

I had not heard of that Marcia...I like to keep a small lunch box sized cooler with a few frozen water bottles in it. I rub them on my arms an neck and legs when I feel over heated...seems to really help!

I don't have vacation that week, is there anyone who would like to carpool from Milwaukee to Oconomowoc in the early evening during their plein aire event?

Thanks Wendy..appreciate the welcome and meeting everyone. Btw...nice pieces in the show, your strength in knowing flowers certainly shows...and I have a much better idea I think for directions I want to take my work for such events in the future.....

We'll have to see how things go...my wife has had a rough summer thus far with fibromyalgia...and another artist at the event told me of a woman doctor, Russian....in Brookfield that would be perhaps quite good for her to see. I have a couple workshops to yet cement and teach this summer.

Imagine I'll see ya at the quick paint tomorrow...take care

Marcia, You asked the question about carpooling to the Oconomowoc Plein Air Event. I will be down there alot. I have thought about carpooling or camping or both. I live in Hales Corners.
