8x10 oil on linen Ive been experimenting with different painting techniques over the last year. This is an example of stacking color on color and using more paint. It was a very direct approach with minimal drawing in the beginning stage and was painted over an older painting that was scraped down. I sometimes use these sketches in combination with reference photos to develop larger studio paintings.
