Now that Spring is here, I am encountering a major problem with small flies or gnats sticking to my paintings.  Anyone have suggestions on what to do with them?  In the past I have just let the painting dry then carefully scratched them off.  But this year they seem to be worse than usual and some are getting into the paint as I work and embedding themselves.  What do other plein air painter's do?
