An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

A Tangle Of Wires

For the last several months I've been studying the alley ways in the town where I work. I settled on this one this morning. I love the maze of wires running every direction.

A passerby wanting to visit with me caused a thirty minutes delay in painting. After we got done chatting, not only was I "out of the zone" (which I had been in), but my light had changed drastically. Must figure out a polite way to let folks know I can stop for long.

Spencer,

This is my kind of painting. Despite the interruption, your light is not only believable but attractive. I'm doing a series on a high voltage power line that runs through my area in New Hampshire. The wires string the various locations and weather conditions together. Besides, as you've shown, those curves of the wires are strong compositional elements. Nice work.
