A little tip for you when painting skys. To create depth it is no different to the landscape perspective. Those objects (in this case the clouds) that are closer to you will apear bigger and warmer in colour, getting smaller and cooler as they disapear into the distance.

Thank you..we are all eager to learn! I always forget about the sky...am too busy with the land, but those clouds of yours are very powerful, I like that dark blue in the sky on the right too. Blue/orange, limited palette works very well. Are you doing a tour of Europe? Painting your way around? You'll have to do a blog and tell us about it!

I am going to look into a blog page soon I think. It is all too much to keep control of. I want to be out painting today but I have ended up on the net with marketing etc :)
I do keep a regular updated facebook page - leon holmes artist. I hope to ad more tips and stories on here.
Very strong painting very believable space. Again, I like the energy of your mark I just finished up teaching a workshop and I was talking about the this very same principle of the perspective in clouds. wish I had your image to illustrate.
