Comment by Ed Cahill on October 1, 2012 at 9:12pm Hey Darrell—Have not seen much from you but this is very, very nice. Good range of color and tone.
Comment by Darrell Baschak on October 1, 2012 at 10:58pm Thanks Ed. Yes, I haven't been posting cause I've been busy working at my "real Job of carpentry" Hopefully things will slow down soon and I can get back to my paint box. Suppose one has to make hay while the sun shines, eh?
Comment by Ed Cahill on October 2, 2012 at 9:03am I understand, I have one of those "real" jobs too. The only thing I can say about our changing economics is that it gives me more time to paint. But I do like this little painting.
Comment by Darrell Baschak on October 2, 2012 at 9:24am One of the lasting impressions I had while painting this one was the many sounds of nature, the light, the aroma of autumn and the peace. All of this is a long ways away from all the troubles besetting the world today. I don't want to belittle the issues facing all of us today but I do wonder if people could take the time you and I do to be at peace with our surroundings and ourselves whether things might not be better? Could it be to simple to be true?
Comment by Ann Crostic on October 3, 2012 at 10:23pm The reflection is so perfectly fall. I think you captured some of the day into this painting.
Comment by Darrell Baschak on October 4, 2012 at 9:38am Thank you Ann. I have since used this painting as a basis for a larger one and am quite happy with the results.
