An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Evening Grain Wagons

This was a tough one. Me and greens don't get along. These wagons sit along the woods north of my house. Every night I watch the sun set on them. Last night I painted them. They didn't turn out the way I'd envisioned, but it was a good exercise.

New Hampshire is full of greens right now (July). It is driving me nuts. I studied my hero's work (Winslow Homer). He avoided green as much as possible. Your red objects make your grays and blues appear to be green. Great shade values in this painting.
