Thanks. Well, the paints were already laid out - heading homeward after a day's painting - and it was too lovely to resist. It's none the better for being done in a hurry and no prizes for that, thankfully - I'm just apologising for posting a sketch with the drawing a bit rough round the edges. But often I find when I have longer I can take my time to make a complete mess - with this one I didn't have the chance! I've heard it said it takes two to make a successful painting outside; the artist and someone to shoot him when it is finished.
Glad you didn't get shot, we'd be out one good artist! Very nice. I'd like to see you do some of the spectacularly lit geology out this way. What are you doing Sept 21 - 23rd? Check out the Plein Air Artist Retreat in the Events calendar. Only $99. Ever been out this way? Lake Roosevelt area. Check out some of the scenery at www.lincolnlakecabin.com and see last years video of PAAR2011 on the Art Stuff tab. Come and paint with us Tony!
Ah, I'd love to, Lynne, but it can't be this year. It is high on my bucket list to travel and do some painting in the States. I've met so many lovely people coming to AITO and my Irish painting buddies, Jane Meyler and Louise Treacy haven't stopped talking yet about the landscape and the experience at the PAC in Nevada. Hopefully in 2013. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy that video and daydream.
