I got into a good deal of trouble when I was in the Navy and was drawing boats in dry dock like this that were "secret". My drawing was scrutinized while I was held in custody. It was determined that no secrets were revealed because my drawing was too loose and sketchy. whew! I like this. Do you use them as sketches for paintings?

It's just the fun of drawing outside. I seldom use them for paintings in my studio. Sometimes I sell the to the yacht owner. The day I drew this ship I sold the drawing of another ship and spend a long evening abord drining wine and having a nice chat about art and boats.
I hope your later experiences with drawing boats where more like this.
