PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Huston wc EON 0402412 001

The day started off foggy and cool and when I got out to do this watercolor it was still hazy even though the fog had burned off.

The wind picked up; then the sun began to break through and the light reveled as it shuffled across the scene.

As the light changed I tried some lifting in a few areas, something I have not done a great deal of in the past because it so radically changes the surface of the paper. I definitely think that with lifting less is more or to quote Howard Bay, “Eh, enough is enough.”

Wonderful! Everything leads me down that street! My eyes enjoy bouncing off all the shapes and colors.
