I replaced the earlier image. It really makes a difference in picture quality when the surface dries and you can spray a matte varnish on the thing!

This one is top notch! Love everything about it.

Do you always spray matte varnish? I've never tried anything but gloss. What does the final product look like?

I have come to the conclusion the matte varnish works best for my work. The main reason is when I scan things the matte is the only thing that keeps the picture clear and colorful with no glare. When I use a final varnish I usually use Gamvar and add some cold wax medium into it for a satin finish. Since I use a lot of thin washes I need something that will unify the surface.

Very informative. I have never used cold wax medium either. You have opened my mind to other possibilities. I need to do some experiments.
