Thank you ladies for your kind words! The painting is not that big...11" x 14"..I have won several awards with it and it was bought by a Musuem director....I just wish more paintings would turn out this successful! I use a pretty traditional palette, generally a warm and cool of each color, and mainly Transparent Brown Oxide as the only earth color. I add a thalo green or a permanent rose as to whatever subject matter I feel may call for brighter colors such as a brighter green in Ireland or a brighter red or rose from Guatemala. Forgot to say - the standard of this work reminds me of Singer Sargent.  Amazing what you got into this sized painting.  I love paintings that change every time you look at it - there is always something else to see.
