An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

?16x20.........New Friends and Free Fish!!!!!

Well I have been painting in this area, and the folks that live in this house have seen me out and about. They were wondering what this guy ( me ) was up to. So as I was in back of my on the road studio set up, his wife told her husband," I think I will go for a walk and see what that guy is up to ". She walked by me...said hello , and checked out my painting in progress. Then down the road came her husband. He immediately was engrossed in what I was doing. This being Northern New Mexico, its pretty rural , and sometimes a tall white guy like myself stands out in a almost all hispanic area. We talked about art, life, my hito ( boy) and how beautiful this valley was. So after a little more time, he went back to the house and returned with 8 just cooked , on an open fire trout........This is for you and your Hito.....I thanked him and promised a small painting next time I was in the area........Fun painting.......fun visiting.........all because of a smile and plein aire painting!!!!!!!!!!

This is inspired, love when there are structures to show off your drawing skills. More than that it just feels wonderful!

"I paint for fish" nice sign or t-shirt idea. Amazing the people you meet while painting outside.

Nice painting Thomas. So often the folks we meet along the way just make it better!

Sounds a little fishy to me. Just kidding. I often have simular encounters with the folks who have an interest in what I am painting particularly when it relates to them. You get invites into their homes, invite for lunch etc. It makes painting all the more interesting. Sounds like from the attached comments every body would have a simular story to tell.

by the way real nice picture. Like Ed's idea of "I paint for fish"
