I spent a couple of days painting this area right before the show.  Sorry I missed you David.  You came so far.  Quite the area isn't it.  If you are on the continent for awhile come and stay at my lake cabin and paint with us!  Seriously, as our guess.  it's a fabulous area to paint and I admire your work very much.  Call me at 509-981-0139 or email me at lynne@tanks-a-lot.net.  Hope you can make it.  Lynne and Tim Haines.

Hi David, My sister, friends and I all met up for that convention as well.  I thought I had far to travel.... all the way from the Reno area.  I hope you were able to see a bit of the Sierras and Rockies.  There is so much beauty around here.  I think your pastels are wonderful.  I'm getting there... Like you, my mom is a painter, and I do it recreationally!  My paintings from the convention were all flops ( not worth seeing the light of day except when I want to relive the moment).  We even ditched the happenings on Saturday to spend the whole day painting (in the drizzling weather) We ended painting from that shelter as you enter the park.  I lived in Las Vegas for 28 years bp (before pastel), and rue that I didn't have this as an outlet back in those days. But believe me, I'm taking advantage of the beauty of where I now live.  Happy painting! - Carol

Thanks for your comment Carolyn yes that rained out day was extremely disappointing . This was painted the following morning before lunch and the photo shoot. i traveled to many of your wonderful National parks for 3 weeks after the convention and brought home 30+ pastels . I sent most of them to Seve Doherty of plein air magazine by email just for his interest but I didnt receive a reply. This surprised me.
