You've captured that effect wonderfully Ed.  It is an extraordinary thing to see when the wind does that to a body of water.

Thank you Darrrell. Honestly it was the brushed on a bit half-hazardly. It's hard to get the idea of that chop. I love painting lakes and I think I do a good job with the reflections but I haven't worked out a good technique for the ripples yet—at least one that won't take you a week to do. I think the answer is in one stroke but perhaps it will take some experimenting with viscosity or perhaps different brushes. Of the four paintings I did that day this one ends up being the weakest, but it was better after I added the blue. Straight shots across a lake tend to be flat and a bit of a bore.

I don't mean to ramble on but I think we would all benefit from some help with technique and methods.
