Comment by Benjamin Smith on March 16, 2012 at 7:45am It is wonderful how you have been able to take such a complex structure and define it in space with the shade and shadow. The limited palette helps to prevent distraction to the subject and sets a perfect mood.
Comment by Benjamin Smith on March 16, 2012 at 7:51am I need to add: the powerlines and evergreen on the right are important elements in that the keep the eye from falling off the right side (distance) and give scale. The more I look at this painting, the more I appreciate what you have done.

Comment by Jeanean Songco Martin on March 16, 2012 at 9:50am Very strong study Cecile. I like the limited palette very much. I was just looking at a Rembrandt pen and ink that has similar qualities. Where in Santa Fe is this? I will be there in Sep. teaching a plein air workshop.
