My second Plein air piece a couple Sunday back ... Was not working ...way too "geometrical" so worked on it a bit more and it pulled me toward total abstraction...I scrubbed off areas to simplify it ...added some white areas...scrubbed more and POW!! Love it

looking at it again I've noticed lots of squares: white, pink, yellow, blue, brown, all around the green diagonal, making a very interesting composition- the yellow in the middle starts my eye off then I go clockwise around. Some are hidden, suggested: white bottom left , grey bottom right, yellow top left, light blue right middle, some appear later: black, actually the longer I look at it the more I find. Were you aware of them? This comes from your subconscious.
