PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Sage Bluffs

Second plein air piece from same location. My goal with these is 1) great composition 2) exaggerated color 3) a sense of place. Thanks Norm and Beula for letting me set up my easel on your road!

A wonderful play of color.  After being drawn to the orange/reds I really enjoyed the snap of the cerulean against the blue violet.

Thanks for the comments. Interesting how that works - the eye is drawn to the warm colors, the high contrast areas, but then is drawn down to the cooler areas and then back up around to the top where the same colors are repeated. And then the whole "movement" thing begins again - a most important element in a successful work of art.
