Santorini Sunset

September, 2009 Santorini is famous for its sunsets. To get the pink glow I had seen on the white buildings the evening before, I soaked a small piece of 300 lb watercolor paper in water, mixed new gamboge and perminent rose watercolor paint and lots of water and poured it over the paper and left it to dry in the sun. Then I drew the buildings and cliffs in ink on my "toned" paper and added the sunset color at the right moment.
