Painting in a redwood forest is challenging because of the lack of light - this 16" x 12" plein air piece was done at 10am when the light was able to penetrate the thick tree canopy for a short while - I love the challenge of plein air. A group of walkers happened by - in order to give an idea of the scale of the tree - the quick figure grouping made sense to me.
