PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Teanaway River at Lambert Rd

Acrylic 9 X 6 1/4. Painted during the Fresh Air Festival in Cle Elum. Total plein air. It's an odd size because I had a 9X12 on hand - my last. I decided to paint 2 pics on it and cut it in two later.

Nice job June, convincing fast water.

The way you effectively captured the motion of rushing water is impressive. The composition is also very well done.

Thank you all for your comments. I had fun painting this. I looked at the subject for awhile before I saw what the design would be. Even with the water constantly moving, the pattern remained the same.

Thanks Damien,

I love your work. The way you are able to depict light is wonderful.

I like the way you work quickly and not fussily.. is a good lesson for me..your descriptions are very helpful, they keep repeating in my head when I'm battling on a painting outdoors, thank you for sharing your thoughts, this is how we learn!

Another great one June.  It is always a pleasure painting with you.  I have a notion to post the picture I took of you standing in the water while you painted this!  I sure hope the big wild fire in Cle Ellum has spared you and your neighbours.  Looking forward to painting again with you soon.  Be safe, keep cool.  That was so much fun, that week at the High Country Plein Air Art Festival!

Thank you Georgina.

Thanks Lynne,The fire is east of my house, but a painter friend east of Hwy 97 towards the north had to evacuate. The Bristol farm was spared though the surrounding hills burned. How did your trip to NY city go?
