This works. Love the shorthand and the few dark strokes in the cliff that allow you to see into that distant shadow.

I wouldn't touch it if I were you....love the way you've done the sky..that white really outlines the rock well. You're getting very good at those strong brush marks!

Hello Georgina.........so, what I am trying to do is paint quickly.......and paint without having that labored...struggled look..........and I find , at least in my on location painting for me..the quicker the better. As soon as I overwork, and diddle around...my paintings look like just that..........I am trying to grow as a painter so I really do want and appreciate this feedback.....................as we all do,,,,I suppose.

p.s. you've brought out the colour well with the photo too, what did you do? was it the contrast? My eye moves into the pic with the light greens then to that pine on the left then up to the top- those slashes on the rock face direct my eye up...I wonder if you do the same?

Hello Ann.........Thanks ....Its really great when a fellow artist can be specific ,,,,and let one know what they like in a painting...............Its really helps........of course the converse is also true......but not as much fun.....The critique page was popular for about a minute..........too much .......kinda harsh.....stuff......said....Thats my long winded
