I create light filled landscapes and intimate pet portraits in bold strokes of oil and pastel.
For me, plein air painting is about recording my emotional reaction to a specific place at a specific time of day. The studio painting that comes from that experience is an extension of the intense feelings and reactions I had when painting outside.

- Hi Addren- I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, but the flu really knocked me for a loop! I'm finally almost over it....I've been glad to be able to stay home & hibernate, though I did manage to get out last week for a good long ride & pictures on a bluebird day.
Glad to hear you're so busy- David said the gallery had a great summer too- that's great news! I've won my first two awards, a sponsor's award in Lynchburg and a 3rd place in oils in Roanoke....for a Rhododendron blossom in a looser style...haha. Your husband should be proud of that trout- sadly there are few that size in the Smith these days. You should come up with him sometime- call me and we'll have a fishing paint out...or a painting fish out....and top it all with dinner at Papa's Pizza- it's the best.
Paint well & I'll look forward to seeing what you have in the Mini show if we don't manage to get together before then
