Barbara Parish

I am a Watercolor Landscape Painter.  My intent is to excite the viewer with color and the feeling of place.  Painting on location inspires me to make quick decisions with composition and design, color intensity, and loose brush strokes.  My painting style is showing change; I use fewer brush strokes and more color.

I travel the back roads of the High Desert and San Bernardino Mountain area in my CJ-5 Jeep in search of my next visual story.

I teach watercolor techniques and the courage to paint in the classroom and on location workshops.

Plein Air Artists of Riverside Sixth Annual Nine Day Paint Out was exciting!  Each day forty-eight painters painted at a different location in Riverside.  The theme, WATER.  Sooo, it rained most every day! Ha Ha!!

Cold Day ~ Rainy Sky

One of the joys of painting on location in February is the weather!  Puffy white clouds with rain on the horizon.

I used a cool color scheme to give the feeling of mystery.  The tree reflection has an interesting opening that caught my attention.

I named this painting…

I look forward to seeing the influence of Don Andrews. Have you done some yet?  I love his DVDs because I can stop, backup, and view again and again, til I get it. Tomorrow I can repeat.  Good luck
