My name is Bernie Rosage Jr. I'm a self taught artist although I prefer the term "self motivated to be taught" as I work hard to fuel my passion for oil painting. I especially like painting en plein aire and working from life... it feels/fills all the senses for me. Mainly... I love the escape from everyday life that plein air painting allows for me... I get into a zone where I commune with nature... an awesome feeling that I am sure many plein air artists experience. I paint locally with a plein air group I helped organize called OOPS... Onslow Outdoor Painters Society... check out the OOPS blog HERE.

Drop by my webpage and blog to see more of my work and read my ramblings...

thanks for the invite- I took a look at your page. Nice paintings, and obviously you are indefatigable when you pursue your art! Hope I will see you at some painting events this year in NC.

Thanks, Bernie, although to tell the truth, I have thought this might make a better painting if I cut it in half - maybe even two better paintings! - as it seems to jump from foreground to background with somehow not enough in between. So far I've baulked at taking a knife to it. Maybe I'll try to do it again in the studio someday, although I rarely do that.
The other thing about this painting is its the last time I'll use Paynes' Grey or Black....mind you, I've sworn that before....

Like Kevin F., I like the Swing Bridge painting. You record a lot of interesting or historical structures that look as if they could soon be lost. I think that's important.
There's something eerie about the 3 Hopperesque clock-tower paintings. They look like any of them could be the cover of a Stephen King novel.
I see you know Jane M. and some other Irish painters from Wet Canvas...all the best and thanks for the welcome.
