When I work outside, I work ( as most of the members do) with weather, time constraints, onlookers, bugs, changing light etc. and try to get a credible representation of the scene in front of me. Some of my work outside may look more polished than others pieces I have posted. The reason is because I am able to get back to the same spot at the same time and with weather conditions being similar, am able to layer in more detail. Marianne V. Kuhn said… Bruce, I love the composition and design work in your beautiful paintings. To answer your question about my palette...I use the Dumond Palette with Scott Christensen greys to replace the Dumond black/white greys. I also use violet's and cobalt blues in the to tone things down. My warm colors are all cadmium - YL, YM, O, RL, RM, Alz.Crmn.
