" Tom,    I scoped all of your photos and to me they all seem fresh and unlabored ( overworked). You said it best "  you know when to look at a scene, and it seems pretty clear how to approach it.""

"Thanks, Lynne.  I have narrowed my palette now down to 7 colors .  I'm working towards simplification, strong value pattern, and less "nitpicking."  I can always do that in the studio. I'm not an especially fast…"

"Amazing.  I love the crisp contrasts, the subtle color combinations.  I especially like the very accurate mood for early spring that this portrays beautifully."

Some of my work outside may look more polished than others pieces I have posted. The reason is because I am able to get back to the same spot at the same time and with weather conditions being similar, am able to layer in more detail. Bruce, I love the composition and design work in your beautiful paintings.  To answer your question about my palette...I use the Dumond Palette with Scott Christensen greys to replace the Dumond black/white greys.  I also use  violet's and cobalt blues in the to tone things down.  My warm colors are all cadmium - YL, YM, O, RL, RM, Alz.Crmn.

Thank you Marianne, and your work is lovely. I admire Christensen's work also and I suspected you might have worked with a limited palette. I'll keep an eye out for your further postings.
