Question... haven't been to a "paint out" before and do watercolor. How do you present the work that day? Are there special frames for plein air watercolors as with plein air oils?Continue

Self Portraits

Feel that getting someone to sit for you that is unattached to weather or not it is flattering so is the best way to practice portraiture. Your own self image comes into play here as demonstrated hereDSCN1079.jpg…See More

SelfPortraits

Every artist should do a self portrait. Most of us do several during our careers. Here is a place where we can show them. Lets see where this takes us. Maybe have a show somewhere?See More

brief bio

I engage the world in terms of two dimensional expression, seeing space, color, light with the intention of relaying this to others. My life has been enriched by seeing this way, and I hope that in relating my observations I can increase others appreciation for the world around them.

It was more scary to me, all of a sudden your comment drifted away, couldn't undo it.

Cecile,

Thanks for the comments. It all just takes time. I have been doing watercolors since I was about 10. Once you get to the point where you are not battling the medium, and it becomes a comfortable tool in you tool kit, you are free to express yourself the way you want to ... with confidence. That said, not all of them turn out how I'd like.

Good luck with your painting.. I see a lot of confident brushstrokes in your work.

Thanks for the warm greeting.
Sag Harbor is on the south fork of Long Island, near Montauk Point. Lots of farmland, still... and of course, lots of water and boats :) When I get the chance, I will post some work.
