Christopher spends his time between Bermuda and Ontario, painting the best of each location. He can be found on location no matter the weather, although Bermuda in the winter months is naturally his first choice. He usually works in oils, although occasionally he will make the 180 degree switch to watercolors.

Christopher M. Grimes replied to Jaqueline Lukowski's discussion Bugs on Paintings"I also scrape them off when the oils are dry. I tend to add finishing touches at this point anyway so any remains get painted over, it adds authentic texture to a plein air painting .. in my humble opinion."

"Thanks Jerry, I am really enjoying this time of year, between summer and fall. The weather is not too hot, there are subtle changes in the color of the foliage and other than the mosquitoes it couldn't be better.

- The first Annual Grand Bend Paint-out was held yesterday, August 29th in Brand Bend, Ontario. Despite high wind, dark heavy clouds and the threat of rain, 15 artists braved the elements for close to 6 hours. The sun finally came out while we holding our critique and drinking wine at 3 pm. Next year we will hold this event in June, hopefully the weather will be better. We never really have had a summer here in Grand Bend this year.
I managed to get three oils done, but after bracing against the wind, which was cold, I was tired and ready for a nap at the end of the session.
