I have access to very good quality plein air frames with closed corners. I was thinking about offering them to members at a very good price but I can only stock a limited amount of inventory so I…Continue

Suzanne Shedosky commented on Ed Cahill's photoBeen doing serious plein air for about a year and a half now. I took a class through the Marietta/Cobb Art Museum in 2011 and I really was influenced. I've been painting all my life but learned for the first time how to really paint outdoors. Since then I've spent every free weekend painting outdoors. I still have a ways to go but it's a labor of love and I really don't have any choice —I'm obsessed. This season I participated in every event I qualified for and placed in a few. It's harder than I first imagined —being a talented artist is good but being smart is important too. I'm learning the ropes and intend to stick with it.
My interest are varied but I love the local landscape and architecture so I do lot of painting here in my neighborhood and the surrounding areas. I own some property North of Atlanta near Helen and get up as much as I can to paint in the mountains. Also have friends near Hilton Head SC and get a chance to paint there.
Most of my recent work can be found on my blog at http://edcahill.com/blog/ My web site is: edcahill.com but I have not revised it since my plein air interests—will be updating it soon—also on facebook. I'm looking forward to participating in local events and meeting fellow artist.
To my fellow artists —Keep painting. To my fans, thanks for the interest. Contact me if you see something you would like to have.

Donald Maier said… enjoyed your whole group -all so spot on with a wonderful variety in color. Maybe my favorites are the beach/sand, but it's hard to pick just one.
Ed, I really enjoy your work. Love your earthy pallet.
Thanks Ed. I appreciate your comments.
Indiana has a very active Plein Air scene. Indiana Plein Air Painters Assn (IPAPA) has paintouts nearly every month of the year as well as informal get-togethers. We have nearly 300 members, many from other states. If you ever make it up to Indiana, look me up and we'll go painting.

Stuart Graham said… Thanks Ed....I live in 'Cabbagetown' Toronto, an older part of the city...and I love
painting the alleys and backs of buildings, there is always some interesting corner to paint.
I wish I had some 'vistas' to paint sometimes but alas I don't get the opportunity often.
Love your work....cheers, Stuart
