"Ah Gisele, we all hit a patch now and then. I just wiped down an 8 x 10 plein air which didn"t work. I fussed with it in the studio, but nothing was right. I had to get out of it."

"You know, Life in general changes, evolves every day. The day I stop evolving as an artist, or in my personal life, I may as well lay down my brush and crawl in a hole and die. Thanks for the encouragement! Gonna ride this one out and have as much…"

Gnats!

Last week, I went painting at Fort Mantanzas with a friend. The weather was perfect and the company was good. Around eleven AM, we were swarmed by this gianormous swarm of gnats! It was literally, a big black cloud of them! I have only seen something like it one time before in Savannah, Georgia during a camping trip with my husband. I found the whole affair to be rather humorous...still makes me chuckle....The next morning, with a toothpick, I removed 71 gnats and one ant from a little 8x10…See More

"This caught my eye as a small icon, which usually means it will hold up well when enlarged. This is a very interesting piece with the composition and color choices."

Growing

I still find Plein Air painting rather stressful. Attribute it to inexperience and the fact that I am still developing a personal style.

During the Paint Out in Flagler Beach last week, I think I realized that I am trying to conform a style/expression that is "not me". Don't need to be like everyone else because I am not like everyone else in real life. Kind of excited the direction things went last week. Maybe my style is finally emerging!

Artist Survey

Please help me in planning my workshop schedule for 2011. Could you take a few minutes and answer a survey that I have online? Your feedback will be extremely helpful.

BTW, should you ever want to do an online survey, I highly recommend SurveyMonkey.

Happy painting,

Charlotte

Just realized I signed up for this a year ago and have done nothing with it. Let's see if I can keep up with it and Facebook and my Web site and MySpace. Would like to begin a blog of some kind. Maybe I can use this...

Your paintings are a world of color and expression. Strong feelings and an assertive painting attitude. Great!

Life evolves just like artwork, you are like a toddler now. In time you will acquire what we all call our own style.  Your style is evolving quite nicely, don't push it.  Go with the flow of your inner soul it will come out on its own, then you will be person you want to be as an artist.

Besides your work is selling so relax and have fun, enjoy the life of being an artist.
