Jerald Peterson left a comment for Lawrence RudolechAfter a twenty-five year career serving a Central Intelligence Agency operations officer in Washington D.C. North Africa, Latin America, and Europe, Peterson retired in 1990 to pursue a second career as an artist. His work can be found in the homes of diplomats, businessmen, journalists, spys and art lovers around the world. A self-taught watercolor and oil painter, Peterson's representational style and earthy palette are distinctively his own. Whether painting an Oklahoma farm, Colonial Mexico, or a French countryside or cityscape, Peterson draws on his unique experience to share with others the rustic beauty he finds in the humble, time-worn, and hand-hewn. Jerald Peterson is a nationally known artist. He is a frequent award winner at fine art exhibits and outdoor fine art festivals from coast to coast. While living in NYC he was an artist member of the Salmagundi Club. Jerald and Molly travel to and have lived in Mexico. They offered painting workshop/retreats in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Molly fed the participants like royality while Jerald painted with them. The Petersons now live in Oklahoma in their rather unique studio/barn where Jerald paints and Molly bakes crusty artisan bread. Jerald paints in watercolor and oil in his studio as well as plein air.
