I have been drawing and painting all my life. My artwork, in various mediums are in private collections throughout New England, as well as in Colorado, West Virginia, and Florida. I have received awards from the Woburn (MA) Guild of Artists and the Greater Haverhill (MA) Arts Association.
I am fascinated by the interraction of light and shadow on everyday objects. Beyond the actual objects, this interaction is the real subject of my works. It amazes me that it is possible to make marks on a flat surface that give the impression of depth and form. I call this 'sculpting on paper or canvas'.
I enjoy painting on-site (en plein air), attempting to 'stop a moment'. I want to share a sense of the place- and time that I was there.
