98 Degrees in the Zinnia Field
11" x 14", oil on panel; painted yesterday in the town of Yolo, CA and it got to 98 degrees before I left. The zinnias were beautiful rich colors, a real feast to see closeup!

Pomegranate Shrub, 20" x 30" oil
This is the largest plein air I've completed!20" x 30" oil on canvas, painted over 3 evenings for a couple hours each evening. It was good to work on this and get a more refined painting.

dry season coming to an end
It's been a long dry stretch for me with few exhibits this year. Some sales, but no shows! A welcome change I learned of this week is one of of my p.a. pieces was selected for a group show for the "State of the Estuary" (San Francisco Bay Estuary) conference at the Oakland Marriott, Sept. 29th - Oct. 1. One of 23 artists selected, and a group show will be wonderful. The piece selected is "Channel at Huichuca" from the Carneros region, Sonoma County.…
