"I think your painting is FINE the way it IS!!! Facial details would have taken attention away from the beautiful light on her legs, the fine brushwork. You don't need to include small details that everybody knows is there."
I think your coastline series of work is just terrific and accomplished. I get curious about places I have not visited and these particular pieces are standout for the way you handle paint and for giving me a sense of what…"
"Thanks for the compliments & invite, Lynne! It's really next to impossible for me to travel. I've got 4 cats, 10 chickens & 10 rabbits that need daily care. Waaaaaaah! Good thing I did lots of traveling…"
"Amazing. I mean you amaze me. You go tramping around with men and paint! Me too. I love it. But I especially admire your work, really! There are a few plein air painters that really are good, in my opinion. …"
plein air field study -- oil on canvas 12x12"I believe this is what "they" call a cheese pumpkin. Maybe because of the color; maybe because it's about the size of a wheel of cheese. We had a sunny day last week and instead of cleaning my studio (!),…
plein air field study -- oil on canvas 12x12"This was another strange-looking pumpkin I bought the other day in Traverse City. All the pumpkins had been marked down to $1. Couldn't resist! I bought 5. As long as the weather holds, I'll be painting…
plein air field study -- oil on canvas 12x12"I've been going hog-wild with all the cool, new pumpkin varieties! Now that Halloween is over, farmers are just about giving them away. I just loved this one -- so blue, it's almost unbelievable. I set it…
"plein air field study -- oil on canvas 12x12"
I guess I like strange-looking pumpkins! There were only 2 kinds when I was growing up: big orange ones & little orange ones. So now I'm just jazzed-out by all the…"
Your studio sounds fantastic. I am jealous as I am still working in a small one with way too much junk. (I am working on that little by little , trying to rid myself of unused stuff) A larger studio does not seem to be in the cards at this time. I entered Noaps also. I received sig. stat. last year and hope to have one in again this year but the pressure is not as high now. I will be looking for your work this year. You are one tough gal to be out there painting in the weather that cold . I guess I am a whimp. I don't think I could stand it that cold. Cold to me is anything under 32 degrees.ha I am suppose to go to a meeting today but then I hope I have time to get out there after that. Good to hear from you. Happy painting. Lyn
Hey girl; I admire you for braving all weather but you must be sure to let someone know you are out there if you decide to try that one again. We certainly don't want to loose you in a snow /ice storm . Lyn
Congrads on getting into the OPA Eastern show. Hurrah! I did too. Are you planning to make the trip? I am not sure I can but really would be fun to go. Just got back from Colorado painting at Salida , was terrific.
