I live in Maine and really love painting in New England. A new favorite painting location in the past few years is out west in Idaho and Wyoming.

I teach watercolor and oils en plein air when I am not painting and drawing out in the wilds some where.

This summer I've been sketching and painting in watercolors as I travel around. Seeing Homer and Sargent's watercolors influenced me to do more watercolors in plein air. Timkoff and Levitan have lately been influencing my direction in my oils.

And I am a children's illustrator in my spare time. (Just kidding - I have no spare time...I'm a painter.)

Thank you for stopping by!

I agree with you about sketching. It's so fresh and honest. A sketching class sounds wonderful. A great chance to play with media too!

Hi thanks for wanting to be friends. Yor work has a certain mystical quality, very poeticly designed compositions. I like your hat, as well.

Neil was Dept. Chair at Penn while I was in Grad School, so I spent 3 years as his student for which I am grateful. I used to canoe up in the Allagash area as well. I'll check out your blog.
