An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location
I paint primarily nature and wildlife in a representational style. I am committed to helping generate funds for selected wildlife organizations by donating my paintings and limited edition prints. I truly believe that our lives are enhanced by protecting these natural resources.
I work in both watercolor and oil and enjoy painting "en plein air", outdoors on location, as well as in the studio. The focus on nature in my work reflects my appreciation of the natural world around us. The play of light on the colors, textures and shapes of simple things we pass by every day and never notice.
I was one of 40 artists chosen in an international juried competition to study in a master's class with wildlife artist Robert Bateman who says, "art begins where nature ends". Painting plein air allows me to interpret nature in my own style with my chosen medium. My hope is that people look at my work and feel an appreciation of their own for the beauty in nature, simple things they pass by every day and never notice.
