painting in the snow

Well i did not think i would go out and paint in the snow, but i did, i could not carry on with the painting but if the snow stays i will go out and try again.

what a day"

At about 12:30 ish the sun was out, so I thought that's it off I go. yes the sky was a bit dark, so i gave it a thought first; that's it, packed the easel and umbrella, just in case, behold I get so far down the Blackwater nature reserve, and I see it, that's it that's the scene, so I set up, it was raining a bit, so out comes the umbrella, have you tried strapping an umbrella to an easel, when the wind came from nowhere and take's it, and it seem that the rain is wild, well at this point I was… Continue

new to the out side

it was not until I gave up my studio, that I started to paint outside, I did spend a lot of time sketching outside where one can hide behind one's book, so the first day I did go out, it was deep inside some woods, where no one was about, that what i though, well that was a few years ago now, now with no studio one has opened the door, it's funny how one can just paint when people just come up to you and think you have the time to hold a conversation, i don't like to be rude and say don't talk… Continue

Yes, Jason, 24x36 is big for plein air. But that's what is required when you have a lot to say. This time of year is the best foliage colours in Canada.
