Twilight ( No Vampires or Werewolves...sorry )

This is a studio painting based on some photos I took in Fredericksburg, TX. My wife and I left our boys at the hotel and went off for an adventure. The sun was disappearing right before my eyes, but I managed to snap a couple photos before it was gone. I don't have a lot of experience painting this large or painting from photographs, so this was a challenge. Summer is here

Summer is here although there are still more 60 F days than 70-80F. Switched back to acrylics for the summer. Did a few plein air outings with the Milwaukee Sketch Club. Uploaded 2 pictures. Can only upload 12 more pictures before I will start having to delete some.

Cherry Blossoms

I excitedly took the subway from Manhattan south into Brooklyn, to visit the Botanical Gardens for my first time ever.

 

The cherry trees I saw initially were in first bloom, not peak, and so I continued into the gardens until I saw a likely spot to stop and paint en plein air. I sat on the hard paved path for two hours, painting…
