PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

BLUECANVAS members get nominated to become featured artists on the home page. The top nominees, as voted on by the BLUECANVAS community, are then considered for publication in the BLUECANVAS Magazine. And it is free to join!

I was chosen to be featured in the 5th edition of Bluecanvas magazine which will be published in July. The website bluecanvas.com is only a year old and they just published their 3rd quarterly magazine edition. Of course I ordered it immediately when I was told I would be in it, and I have just received the 3rd edition. It is a very nice piece, perfect bound and it sells for $6.99 in Borders and Barns&Nobel. Also, it is included in all of the welcome packs received by all the art students in all the art schools in the country. I am hoping this exposure will be a big boost for my painting career. You can click on this link below and check out the magazine yourself online:

I would urge all of you to join this site and become part of this growing community of artists before it grows so big that you will be lost in the sea of members. It is out of Los Angeles and did I mention, it is FREE!

I joined in December and began receiving "stars" right away. I put a few pieces on everyday, because my strategy was that people who logged on to look at work would see the most recent one posted first. So rather than put on everything at once, do a few every day or so. In late January I was one of two artists featured on the home page of the website. This gave me much more exposure and the stars stared pouring in. Shortly after that I guess they reached a critical mass and I was informed about my selection for the magazine article. I now have over 328 stars and counting.

This site is worldwide, so exposure is not just local or even national. This is in the spirit of an "artist's coop" and wanted to share this find with all of you.
