PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

I hope my picture came out on this blog or non of this will make sense. It is a picture of my well loved paintbox, an Open BoxM. It has been with me all over from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the Grand Canyon, Crystal Cove California and the deserts of Arizona. Yes, it looks like an abstract painting but every 4 months or so I sand it down to clean it up just a bit. I have noticed that for the most part artists are one or the other. Neat, tidy, all brushes ALWAYS clean, no paint in their hair or on the insides of their spouses cars----- or Not any of these things. My paintbox gives me away. I do find it fun to hear from other painters which are they? Now I am sure that even the neat and tidy folks have well loved paintbox's , mine just looks more loved.

Wow, :-O

The cleanest spot on it is the painting itself, :-P

Your love affair is obvious. But, It's not just well-loved, it's ADORED! You've inspired me to no longer think of my palette and easel as messy, but loved and cherished.

For my part . It seems that I have paint everywhere but on my paintings .
I'm more of a , on the floor, on the pants , on the hands , on the head ,
in the car type of painter . I've heard that people who are too organised
or too tidy tend to be less productive . That's good for me .
Thanks for sharing.

Nice box.!! Mine has not been that well loved yet, lets see how it goes by the end of summer. But then again I do use alot of painters tape to shield my box from my extravagent sprints.
