An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location
Our expedition to Brooklyn Bridge was a total trip. There was the most amazing assortment of people coming by to visit us...all saying how beautiful our paintings were...in 50 different languages. In all of my outdoor experiences none has paralleled what goes on in New York City. I have twice been to Central Park, once to Madison Park which I am posting today, and also to The Brooklyn Bridge. Danielle Hatherley at The Plein Air Painting School made it all happen for me. She selects the sites and brings all of your materials and French Easels to make life easier for the traveling painter. The Bridge was a tremendously complicated setting. The morning was completely foggy and cloudy but as the day wore on the sun peaked through and the sky turned blue. On a good day I could not have mastered the complicated scene. This one would have required two days of concentration. Danielle was a champ for helping us all get through the day. The local New Yorkers seemed to have a better go at it than the Georgia girl who has no bridges to paint...
