Hey Don, I'll be in butte country in mid-October, too. I have a gig at the Petrified Forest, Sept 26 to Oct 9, and then we are off to the Lightning Field Oct. 11. But I am looking for a place to stay and paint after that somewhere in the Colorado Plateau -- near Canyon de Chelly would be perfect. Do you have recommendations that I could check out?

Hi June, I will be painting at Canyon de Chelly around Oct 16-18th. I recommend it if you want to camp out at the grounds there. It is free! I have only painted at the rim but met a resident there last time in 2006 who invited me to spend the day in the canyon and sleep in the hogan on sheep skins he will provide me. I can't wait. Watch for me if your still there.
