PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

An Online Artist's Coop for Artists who Paint on Location

Print-On-Demand at FineArtAmerica.com

I wanted to tell everyone about another free website that I have been on for about two years now. The site is: www.fineartamerica.com and as I said it is FREE!

About 3 months ago I signed up for their "Print-On-Demand" service. For $30 per year, you can post your artwork for sale as high quality giclee prints. I have over 300 pieces posted and I went through and re-photoed and re-scanned everything so I would have all of them at a high resolution to insure that the print quality was excellent. I also tested there service by having a print made for myself. It was excellent. They offer a range of paper qualities, canvas and also matte and framing if desired. I sold my first print, an oil of some dragonflies after being on the site for only 5 days. I made $57 on the sale and I still have my painting! This pays for the service for almost 2 years! Since then I have had several prints made and shipped to galleries for sale. But the beauty of this site is that you don't have to buy prints to sell them elsewhere, they will print your work "on demand"... when the sale is made. So you don't have to make an outlay of money up front. It is a win-win for everyone. Do yourself a favor and check it out. In these hard times, selling prints makes sense ¢.

You will see many of our members already there.

Thanks so much for this tip Donald! I signed up and will be posting as much work as I am able on this site. I think it's just what I've been looking for!

Donald,
Could you please tell me what size and resolution settings you used for your Print - On - Demand images? Thanks, Anita

Yes, You can link the two sites by going to FAA and get a code there that is then pasted on your profile page here. Look at my page to see one.
