I painted this while I was in Venice last year. I had just finished one painting and was deciding when to stop for the day when the sky turned pink and I just had to try and paint another.
It was literally painted in the last few minutes of the day with quite a breeze blowing but I was very happy with the result, especially the old church with all the lost and found edges. The gondolier was painted in when I returned home to Australia.
Painted on a quarter sheet arches cold press block, 185 gsm.
Happy painting,
Joe
